How to effectively execute your Wedding Introduction and NAIL IT!
Because the first dance usually comes after the wedding introduction, it is usually best to go with a high-energy intro for your reception. Since your first dance is going to be slow and romantic, you should go with something quite the opposite of this. Here is a recent wedding intro we did that keeps things high energy and fun, so that the first dance will mean even more:
The reason for the opposite tone is to make people feel like the are experiencing something. Walt Disney didn’t just make kids laugh. He also made them sad and scared and evoked other emotions as well so that it really felt like they were experiencing something special in his movies.
Baptist tent ministries also follow this same model. They get their congregation to sing, and then cry during a heart-felt testimony, then tell a funny anecdote during the sermon for the very same reason. (Some would argue that when they do this correctly, this is how they can really find full offering plate at the end of a service!)
